Abstract . 

(1)  C + H2O  = CO + H2 - 176 kJ; (2) CO + H2O = CO2 (cycled) + H2 - 3 kJ and totally C + 2 H2O = 2 H2  + CO2 - 179 kJ ; so (3) H2 = 12 * 120 / 4 = USD 360 / ton H2 = USD 90 / ton CH4, and 1729,000 * 0.004 /3.6 =  USD 200 /16 = 12.5 / ton CH4. 

(4) CO2 (cycled) + 4H2 = CH4 + 2 H2O + 254 kJ, and CH4 =  8 * 360 /16 = USD 180 / ton CH4 + 254,000 * 0.3 * 0.02 / 3.6 /16 =  USD  26.5 / ton CH4. 

Totally, CH4 = 180  - 26.5  + 12.5 =  USD 167 / ton CH4 = USD 120 / 1000  m3
