Abstract

The commercial PV panel is exposed to the sun and a thin film reflector adds more sun to it

For sunny regions of subtropics, it is totally 160 % solar power of the said PV-panel and can be cheaply controlled vs. conventional two axis tracking, needs more heavy and costly mechanics. The reflector is attached to one side of the said PV panel 

If the sun is at A-angle to horizon and tracking reflector being at B-angle to horizon, and B = 45 + A/2 > A, the solar flux is reflected perpendicularly on such panel 

For 1.0 m2 panel, optimized W(kWh) ~= (Direct Normal Irradiation = 2400 kWh/yr.) * (0.85 * Sr * (Sin (B – A) = Cos B) + Sin A + 0.15). here Sr = 2 m2 is the reflector area.

For example, for Israel and South Australia, a 1.0 m2 panel of 18% efficiency can produce about 800.0 kWh/yr. electricity. At present price of PV module being USD  0.2/Wp, it would be 5.0 cent/kWh at 5 years payback.

Breeding investment can cheapen such electricity practically to zero...
