 About 87% energy effective CO2 reduction to CO via formic acid.

Abstract.

(a) H2O = H2 + 0.5 O2 - 286 kJ / 0.90= 320 kJ;

(b) CO2 + H2 = CO2H2 + 32 kJ;

(c) CO2H2 = CO + H2O - 29 kJ; and totally

320 +  32  -29  = 324 kJ vs.- 283 kJ if  CO2 = CO  + 0.5 O2.

So my technology is 283 / 324 = 87 % energy effective.
