(2) CO + 1.4 H2O = CO2 + 1.4 (H2 + 0.5 O2), and (1) + (2) totaly gives circular C02 and CO process with Gibbs criteria dG = dH - dS * T < 0 with dH (kJ/mol) = 110 + 1.4 * 242 - 393 = 56 kJ/mol and with dS = 214 + 1.4 * (131 + 0.5 * 205 - 180) - 195 = 93 J/(K * mol), so T > 330 C. Because CO2 and CO are circular, they are practically free, so Opex cost of the hydrogen product is equal to a cost of energy consumed, so it is about 56 kJ * 1.1 / (1.4 - 1) = USD 154 / Mmol H2 [1], so = USD 77/ ton H2 product. (3) 0.5 N2 + 1.5 H2 = NH3 - 46 kJ = 46,000 * 0.3 (efficiency heat in electricity) * 0.03 (tariffs) / 3.6 = USD 115 / Mmol of sold electricity as a by-product. Here N2 is practically free, if a mol of NH3 burns oxygen out of the air forming totally 7 mol N2 for 7 mol NH3 production. Such NH3 is USD 14 / ton NH3, OPEX, and totaly with Capex no more than about USD 50 or so. (4) CO2 + 3 * H2 = CH2 + 2 H2O - 224 kJ heat in electricity + USD 4.5 / bbl, and (5) CO2 + 4 H2 = CH4 + 2 H2O. CH4 = USD 23 /1000 m3. References.
