The core idea goes back to ~1985 yr.
A helicopter can be paired with a mobile mother port (MMP) being a sea or
land small high speed transport carrying a fuel and can be equipped by high
voltage electric generator powering the helicopter in many practical cases by
high voltage thin cable, and additionally it can carry some ammonia being a
liquid at 20 bars pressure and a tiny heater can transform the ammonia in
hydrogen by simple heating. That hydrogen can fill a flexible walls balloon can
lift and fix the said cable to the helicopter at the sky, when it returns after
its mission to repeat or prolong it. Additional analogous balloon, but much
bigger one carried by MMP in its folded form, can be used to save a lot fuel at
pauses in the helicopter combat mission. The MMP can carry ammunition and other cargo
can be added during the helicopter mission by serving transports.
Certainly, the helicopter must have electric engine/s or a small electric engine
additionally to a main gas turbine engine.
